Grandma Ulrickson's Strawberry Shortcake

Ingredients:

2 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
4 tablespoons shortening
1 whole egg
2/3 cup milk, or water

Instructions:

1. Sift dry ingredients together.

2. Add shortening with a fork. Add water to beaten egg and add mixture slowly to make a soft dough. Do not overwork.

3. Fill greased muffin tins half full or roll out 1/2 inch thick.

4. Bake 10-12 minutes in a hot oven

5. Top with berries.
