Stuffed Shells


Notes:  This recipe is from Pete's mom, Jean Cain.

Ingredients:
1 pound ground beef, browned and drained
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 dash garlic salt
1/2 tsp salt
1 dash pepper
12 ounces tomato paste (6 oz.)
2 cups water

3 cups cottage cheese
2/3 cup parmesan cheese
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
1 package jumbo shells

Instructions:

1. Brown and drain ground beef.  Add onion, garlic salt, salt, pepper, tomato paste, 2 or more cups of water.  Simmer for 30 minutes.

2. Cook Jumbo Shells about 10 minutes- they should still be firm.  Drain and put in cold water till ready to stuff.

3. Put 1/2 sauce in bottom of pan and place shells on it.  Cover with remaining sauce.

4. Sprinkle 1/2 cup parmesan cheese over.  Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
